Asbestos Bulk Analysis

We are UKAS accredited for the identification of Asbestos in bulk materials including materials and products suspected of containing asbestos.

This covers the following range of minerals:

  • Amosite is most often associated with insulation board and pipe lagging.
  • Chrysotile is commonly associated with cement products and in sash windows and heat seals.
  • Crocidolite is widely used in spray materials and pipe lagging.
  • Other less common types of asbestos are fibrous anthophyllite, fibrous actinolite and fibrous tremolite.
Asbestos is the single greatest cause of work-related deaths in the UK causing diseases which result in around 4000 deaths a year. HSE
